Social Engineering Through the Internet


Most of the major security breaches in the last few years have begun with a simple phishing email or social engineering attack. In general, people are easier to fool than computers and security systems.  Social engineering is a component of many types of viruses.  It’s a tactic used to persuade people to click on that link, open the attachment in email, divulge sensitive information, and scare you into running software that is useless and dangerous.
