Hope Starts Here. Join the AAWCC in Making Strides.

The MCC chapter of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) is gearing up for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer on October 1, 2006 at Frontier Field. We will be meeting at Frontier Field at 9:00 am in front of ticket window number three. Look for the big MCC banner and enjoy the power in numbers as we walk to the Liberty Pole and back.

Every three minutes, a woman in the United States learns she has breast cancer. Anyone can be touched by the effects of breast cancer because these women could be our mothers, wives, sisters, or friends. Today there is more reason to be hopeful about breast cancer thanks to early detection and better treatment.  However, there is still more to be done.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a noncompetitive walk to raise awareness and dollars to fight breast cancer. Pledges are dedicated to lifesaving American Cancer Society research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs to defeat the disease. Since 1993, 2 million walkers have raised more than $130 million through Making Strides.

You can honor the many lives touched by breast cancer by raising funds for the American Cancer Society’s crucial programs through your participation, either as a donor or as a walker. There is no pre-registration or registration fee.  Simply bring your donations and your completed registration form with you on the morning of the event, Sunday, Oct. 1.
