Celebrate Scotland with Celtic Society

On Tuesday, May 6 at 6 p.m., please join MCC’s Celtic Society in 12-129 for a screening and discussion of STONE OF DESTINY. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn the latest about Scotland’s upcoming independence referendum and to win a FREE DOOR PRIZE.

In 1297, the English army took the Scottish national symbol, the Stone of Destiny, and brought it to London.  Just over 650 years later, Scottish university students set off to get it back. STONE OF DESTINY recounts their adventure.

Following the screening, Celtic Society members will help put the film into historical perspective, especially in light of the upcoming Scottish independence referendum scheduled for September 18, 2014.

The event is free and open to the public. Free pizza and soda will be provided.

Celtic Society’s purpose is to raise awareness of the Celtic Nations (Brittany, Cornwall, Galicia, Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland, Wales) and diaspora. It aims to share and celebrate Celtic culture with the college community. Celtic Society welcomes all students, faculty, and employees, regardless of their ethnic backgrounds.

For more information about Celtic Society or its sponsored events, please contact Celtic Society at mcccelticsociety@gmail.com or visit us on OrgSync.
