Every year, nearly 300 schools all across America compete in the College Bowl program. This long-running academic competition puts the brightest students against each other in a fast-paced game of wits. Our campus tournament, open to all students, will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 beginning at 4:00 PM in the Forum, 3-130, in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center. Prizes will be awarded, and a Varsity Team will be selected to represent us at the Regional Championship Tournament at SUNY Brockport on February 23rd.
In order to select the best team we can to represent our institution at the Regional, we need your support to make our campus tournament the best it can be. We need to recruit teams of four students each to compete in our tournament. We ask that you distribute the attached information/sign-up sheets to your classes and direct any interested students to return the forms to the Campus Center Office, 3-126 by Wednesday, January 30, 2008.
Additionally, we will need a number of faculty and staff to volunteer as game officials for the tournament itself. Volunteer training will take only one session, so please let me know if you can help out. We’re also happy to accept your support in the writing of practice questions or running practice sessions for our varsity team after the campus tournament is over.
