The permanent home of MCC’s downtown campus will be decided next week.
On February 12, the Monroe County Legislature is scheduled to vote on legislation authorizing the County Executive to acquire Kodak property at State Street and Morrie Silver Way for the College. The legislation authorizes the purchase of 561,951 gross square feet in five buildings and an adjacent parking lot with 439 spaces for $2.999 million. A majority support (15 votes) of the 29 county legislators is required to pass the legislation.
All are welcomed to attend the Legislature meeting on Tuesday, February 12, at 6 p.m. in the County Office Building, 39 West Main Street. Legislative chambers are on the fourth floor. Please feel free to wear your “Time to Move” buttons as a show of support.
While we are optimistic of the outcome, we are not letting up on our advocacy efforts. There’s still time to demonstrate your support by signing our "https://www.monroecc.edu/downtown/support.htm" online petition and encouraging your friends and family to sign it as well. To date, we have more than 760 signatures, but with your help, we can make an even stronger statement!
