Starfish Attendance Early Intervention Project: Survey #2 open next week!

Thank you to everyone who completed the starfish first attendance survey that was open Thursday (9/14) through Tuesday (9/19). We sent out 1865 surveys and 1484 surveys were completed which is an 80% return rate! This resulted in 1104 flags being raised on students who had attended class but had missed 50% or more of class time. Each of these students was called and directed to check their email and informed of resources that can assist them.

The second attendance survey will open on Monday (10/2) and close on Thursday (10/5).

This second survey will focus on the 3rd and 4th weeks of classes. Please raise a flag on any student who has attended a class but has missed 50% or more of class time in the 3rd and 4th week of classes. A Starfish flag will be raised which will automatically send an e-mail to the student raising the concern and include recommendations to address possible challenges. Additionally, every student will be called to connect them with the resources they may need.

As a reminder, Starfish surveys are sent through email and include links to surveys for each section that you teach. fsdxzg

We request that all faculty members respond in a timely manner to these surveys so that we can identify and intervene early with any students at-risk for attendance issues.

Please check your email on Monday 10/2 for the survey announcement with instructions.

Instructions are also attached here with details on how to compete the attendance surveys.

For technical questions about using Starfish, please contact Kim Ross (kross25@monroecc.edu). For questions about this pilot, please contact Terry Keys (tkeys@monroecc.edu).
