Applied Technologies Center Lockdown Drill Results

On July 30, 2014 the Department of Public Safety conducted an unannounced lockdown drill at the MCC Applied Technologies Center. This drill was initiated to reinforce the safety practices that need to be followed during an emergency campus sheltering event; specifically a lockdown. It also served to increase the awareness and understanding of the emergency notification messages broadcast during a lockdown process.

The lockdown drill was a success with participation and compliance by all that were onsite during the time of the drill. The drill began at 1:10 P.M. and concluded 5 minutes later. All individuals that were in a hallway or vulnerable area correctly sought shelter inside securable rooms. In addition, they utilized specific steps to make their environment safer.

Emergency management exercises and safety drills will continue in the future as an effort to keep you safe while at MCC. Your participation is always welcome and very much appreciated.
