On Friday, November 5, 2010 at Noon in the MCC Theater, the Visiting Scholar Series is honored to host award-winning Author of The Things They Carried, Tim O’Brien. This event is open to the public and tickets are required but free to MCC students, faculty and staff.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the publication of The Things They Carried and it is considered one of the finest books ever written about the Vietnam War. Far from a combat story of pride and glory, it is a compassionate tale of the American soldier, brimming with raw honesty and thoughtful reflection.
