Drumright and Dilai Partner with HGHRP to Commemorate the Ukrainian Holodomor, Soviet Manmade Famine of 1932-33


On Sunday, November 18, 2012, William “Bill” Drumright, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Anthropology, History, Political Science and Sociology Department, will deliver a lecture titled: “We Will Meet Again Under the Ground: Giving Human Dimension to Stalin’s Victims of Starvation and Terror” during a commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Ukrainian Holodomor, Soviet manmade famine of 1932-33.

The event is organized in partnership with Elena Dilai, assistant professor in the Mathematics Department, who serves as the President of Branch 120 of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (the organizer of the event), and the Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Project at MCC for which both Dilai and Drumright serve on the faculty advisory board. The Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Project will donate the poster exhibit to be displayed at the event. The exhibit, titled “Execution by Hunger: The Unknown Genocide of Ukrainians,” was created by the International Charitable Fund “Ukraine 3000” and printed by the HGHRP.
