MCC's Distance Education Program Served as a Research Model

MCC's Distance Education program served as the research model for Carol Oliver's dissertation at the City University of New York. The dissertation, entitled "Teaching at a Distance: The Online Faculty Work Environment," has been successfully defended and a copy is on reserve in the LeRoy V. Good Library and is available for check out and review.

In her personal note to MCC faculty, Dr. Oliver wrote, "This dissertation is about your online programs and about how online teaching can be effective if done in a way that incorporates a caring faculty, a good technology staff, and a strong administrative team. Now that the dissertation is completed I think we can represent MCC as a school that has shown much innovation and support to its faculty who teach online!"
