Come Enjoy a Seasonal Celebration!

The MCC Jazz Ensemble (big band) and MCC Combo (small group), both under the direction of John Nyerges, will present a concert of jazz music to celebrate the season.The concert will feature jazz classics such as "Four" and "So What" by Miles Davis, Equinox by John Coltrane, "O Christmas Tree" (jazz version as heard on Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon classic), from the Combo, PLUS holiday big band arrangements such as "Frosty the Snowman" and "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear," and a classic for any season by Duke Ellington - "Take the A Train" from the big band!

The Visual and Performing Arts Department will present a concert Wednesday, December 14th featuring the MCC Guitar Ensemble under the direction of David Olson and the MCC Concert Choir directed by Tom Fittipaldi. The Guitar Ensemble will perform pieces from the Baroque as well as arrangements of Star Wars and Mrs. Robinson. The MCC Concert Choir will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s setting of the Magnificat accompanied by a mix of student and  professional instrumentalists. All the solos will be performed by MCC music students for this demanding yet rewarding masterpiece. MCC Guitar Ensemble and  The Magnificat by Johann Sebastian Bach performed by the MCC Concert Choir and instrumentalists.
