Celebrate the Success and Partnership of Michael Krupnicki ’85, MCC Alumni Hall of Fame Inductee

Support the success of the MCC Foundation. Join us for the 25th Annual Salute to Excellence dinner on Thursday, November 13 and meet alumnus Michael Krupnicki ’85 who will be inducted into the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame! Tickets for MCC faculty and staff and their guests are available for $50 and can be purchased through the Foundation office at x1500 or <mailto:mccf@monroecc.edu>.

Michael is president of Mahany Welding Supply Co., Inc. and executive director of the Rochester Arc + Flame Center. He is an entrepreneur who teaches and helps prepare MCC students for successful careers in the welding and metal trades industry. He credits his MCC professors for encouraging him to pursue lifelong learning and advanced degrees. Michael was nominated by Janet Ekis ’91 (Marketing and Community Relations).

After graduating from MCC with an associate degree in business administration, Michael went on to earn two bachelor’s degrees in management and accounting from St. John Fisher College, and an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, all while working full-time and raising his family.

Three decades later, Michael is president of Mahany Welding Supply, which has grown significantly under his leadership. The company supplies welding equipment, industrial gases, and related products to a wide variety of organizations in upstate New York. In 2012, he founded the Rochester Arc + Flame Center, a business devoted to training in welding, metal smithing and the glass arts. In partnership with MCC, the center hosts a Welding & Fabrication certificate program, which prepares motivated individuals for rewarding careers in the metal trades.

Michael stays involved with MCC as an adjunct professor, training partner, philanthropist, supplier, and as an employer of MCC graduates. He is the recipient of the New York Community College Trustees’ Business/Industry Partnership award and the Rochester Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” award. He donates his time and talent in leadership positions for industry organizations, including the American Welding Society and the Association of Independent Welding Distributors.

Funds raised at the Salute to Excellence support student scholarships and educational innovation at MCC. The event reception will be held at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center at 5:30 p.m.; the dinner and award ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. MCC employees may purchase tickets for $50 ($120 for general public) through the Foundation office at x1500 or <mailto:mccf@monroecc.edu>.
