Record-breaking Number of Applicants for Residence Halls

On Monday, April 3, the first day to file an application to live in the Dr. Alice Holloway Young Commons residence halls in Fall 2006, Residence Life staff accepted 306 applications in three hours. That is our highest first-day total ever.

Thanks go to Shelitha Dickerson, director of residence life, the entire Residence Life staff and the Computing Services staff who assisted in implementing an online application process using PayPal this year.

Applications continue to be accepted. Because bed assignments are made only when students have filed an application, paid a deposit and registered for classes, prospective residence hall applicants still have a fair chance to get into the halls. If you know a student who is interested in on-campus living, encourage them to apply as soon as possible.
