I regret to inform you that retired Instructor Roger Deveney, Business Administration/Economics, passed away on Sept. 11. Roger taught marketing and business administration courses at Monroe Community College from 1986 to 1997 and was a member of the department’s Effectiveness in Teaching Committee and Writing Across the Curriculum efforts.
Prior to teaching, Roger served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His military career spanned 28 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, to whom he was married for 49 years, five children, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held today (Friday), 4 – 8 pm at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Road, Fairport. His funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17 at St. John of Rochester Church, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport. Contributions may be made to the Parkinson Disease Foundation, 919 Westfall Rd., Rochester, NY 14618. Cards may be sent to the Deveney Family at 2 Musket Lane, Pittsford, NY 14534.
