Norman Raiford, instructor of history, at Greenville Technical College (S.C.), describes an encounter with a special needs student that helped him devise a strategy whereby all students would be encouraged to participate in class and no one student could dominate question-and-answer opportunities.
NISOD celebrates teaching and leadership excellence each year at its annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence scheduled for May 28 - 31, 2006, in Austin, Tex. We encourage faculty and staff to participate by submitting a proposal to present. The deadline for submission is Friday, December 16, 2005.
