"Deep Water Drilling and the Gulf of Mexico" Presentation Available Online

On October 27th, 2010, Dan Robertson, Chair of the Chemistry and Geosciences Department, presented a lecture on undersea oil drilling, the Deep Water Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, and the future of energy.  The lecture was attended by a standing-room-only crowd of students, faculty, and staff.  The presentation is now available online at https://videoserver.monroecc.edu/production/videocontent.htm, and can be viewed in on any personal or office PC, or in any classroom that is equipped with a computer and projector.

The Sustainability Steering Committee is grateful to Dan Robertson for crafting such an informative and engaging lecture.  Not only did it prove to be a successful event, but it provides MCC faculty with an opportunity to discuss issues of energy, environment, and economics in their classes, and in a larger sense, serves as a tool that will help to infuse sustainability into MCC’s curriculum.
