Former Tribune Star Taylor Sets Scoring Record at Miami

Former MCC basketball star Renee Taylor, who led the Tribunes to back-to-back NJCAA national championships, set the University of Miami single-game scoring record in an 82-73 loss to Houston Tuesday night.

Taylor scored 42 points and added four steals for the Hurricanes, ecclipsing the previous record of 41. She shot 13-for-24 from the field, 7-for-12 from the 3-point line, and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. The seven 3-pointers tied a school record.

Teammate Maurita Reid, another former Tribune, scored 11 points and added two steals for Miami.
Taylor leads the Hurricanes in scoring, averaging 19.1 points per game. Reid is second in scoring with 15 per contest.  Miami is 8-4 on the year.
