News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Board Room, Spina Administration Building on the Brighton Campus on Monday, April 7 and took the following actions:

1.      Accepted the interim financial report as of February 2014.

2.      Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of February 2014.

3.      Authorized Howard Konar, chair of the Finance and Facilities Committee, and John Bartolotta, chair of the Board of Trustees, to approve budget transfers on behalf of the Board of Trustees through the end of the budget year, August 31, 2014.

4.      Approved the appointment of Marcus Watts, as interim assistant director, Student Services, Damon City Campus, effective March 3, 2014.

5.      Approved the appointment of department chairs for the academic year 2014-15 as listed.

6.     Adjusted the 2014-15 base annual salaries in accordance with Article 47 of the current contractual agreement with the Faculty Association for six members, effective September 1, 2014.

The Board also heard presentations from President Kress on progress on Strategic Plan, Direction Three; from Vice President, Educational Technology Services Dr. Jeff Bartkovich and Director of Libraries Mark McBride on MCC archives web site; from General Counsel Diane Cecero on MCC’s participation in Start-Up NY; from MCC Foundation Immediate Past Chair David Mack on recent Foundation initiatives; from Faculty Senate President Mark Ernsthausen on senate initiatives; and from Brenda Davies for the Support Staff Professional Development Steering Committee on committee initiatives.
