A Power Upgrade Project This Weekend

The next phase of the power upgrade project will start this weekend and affect buildings 1, 6 and 7. The power will be turned off this Saturday from approximately 7:00 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m.. The length of the outage in individual areas will depend on the time it takes to move the feeder from the old equipment to the temporary power source. Some areas will experience only a brief outage untilĀ  emergency generation takes over.

During this time buildings 1, 6, and 7 will be closed as a safety precaution since the only lighting will be that supplied by emergency generators.

Generally speaking,
it is best to power down all your electronic and electric devices before you leave today. The sudden surge of electricity when they are repowered can damage sensitive electronic equipment - especially computers and refrigerators. The offices and building cooling equipment will likely take the longest to switch over and may result in warm conditions that are not conducive to electronics either.
