Norma Holland, host of 13WHAM’s Many Voices, Many Visions community affairs program, interviewed Simeon Banister, PathStone Corporation, and high school senior Kwantasia Lewis about the new Save for Success program. Save for Success is a community collaboration between MCC, ESL Federal Credit Union and PathStone Corporation that matches students’ college savings 8 to 1 (up to $3,000) and provides financial and life skills counseling. The program launched in April 2014 and is made possible by an Assets for Independence Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and MCC Foundation supporters.
The first cohort of Save for Success Scholars will begin their studies at MCC this fall. Learn more about the program at www.saveforsuccess.org.
