The Sixth Act Presents "Rochester's Theatre Community"

The Sixth Act is thrilled to announce its first event of the 2005-2006 academic year, “Rochester’s Theatre Community.”  Representatives from at least nine local theatre companies—including Geva, Shipping Dock, and Blackfriars—will meet with MCC faculty and students to discuss their missions and philosophies, their 2005-2006 seasons, any special opportunities they can offer MCC faculty who bring students to see one of their plays, and any internships or other opportunities they can offer MCC students directly.

If you are at all interested in theatre in Rochester, we urge you to attend this exciting event. Whatever discipline you teach, chances are you will learn about a play that can enhance your curriculum. However you use what you learn, chances are your students will benefit from exposure to live performance art, you will benefit from a broader perspective of theatre opportunities in our city, participating companies will benefit from broader exposure, theatre in Rochester will benefit from increased interest in theatre, and the Rochester community will benefit from all of the tangible and intangible possibilities a more vital theatre scene can foster.

The workshop will be held Thursday, September 29, 2005, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the Black Box Theater, Building 4, on the Brighton Campus. All faculty and students are welcome. Promotional literature will be distributed, and light snacks will be served. Please contact Maria Brandt at mbrandt@monroecc.edu or 585-292-3394 with any questions.
