Who’s Who (Again) for C. Thomas Gilbert III

Tom Gilbert of the Office and Computer Programs Department has been awarded “Who’s Who Among America's Teachers” distinction for the third time in three years.

After an active duty military career where he attained the rank of Major as a Biomedical Science Officer/Cardiopulmonary Physiologist in the USAF (he's now a retired Reserve Officer), he served as a Cardiopulmonary Physiologist/Health Science Officer for the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, N.Y.  While in the military, he served as an adjunct instructor for a number of junior colleges teaching a variety of specialty medical subjects and physiology.  He began teaching in the computer field in 1987 (as an adjunct assistant professor at FLCC) and came to MCC in 1995.  Currently, he teaches a wide variety of our computer courses, has served as department chair, and has been very active on Faculty Senate including serving on the Faculty Senate Executive Committee (as Chairman of SCAA).  He has also been active for many years as a practicing NYS AEMT, an EMT instructor and as a licensed NYS EMT/CIC (course instructional coordinator).

[Selection for Who's Who Among America's Teacher's is the recognition program in the education field where the ultimate consumers of education - the students - have the opportunity to honor teachers who have most significantly impacted their lives]
