To kick start our Homecoming celebration, golfers and non-golfers alike are encouraged to join the Foundation as we celebrate Betty Smith’s long and lustrous career at MCC for the Alumni Luncheon and Golf Classic to be held at the end of summer session on Friday, August 8!
An MCC alumna from the Class of 1982 and member of the Alumni Hall of Fame, Betty has been with Monroe Community College for 28 years. This special luncheon and golf classic will provide an opportunity for Betty’s colleagues, friends and family to celebrate her career at MCC as it comes to a close and to thank her for her long-standing commitment to our students by raising funds to support the Betty P. Smith Scholarship for Returning Adult Students.
How can you participate? Register for lunch, golf or both! Tickets for both the luncheon and golf include a $25 tax deductible gift. Luncheon only tickets are $40. Golf and lunch tickets are $100. We hope you will be part of this exciting event on Friday, August 8, at Eagle Vale Golf Club, 4344 Nine Mile Point Road in Fairport beginning at 12 noon in the Stratford Room. A hot buffet lunch will be served at 12:30 pm and golfers will tee-off (scramble format) at 2:15 pm. Eagle Vale’s course features natural wetlands and a variety of wildlife and flower gardens that add to the beauty of the terrain. Our goal is to raise $3,000 in support for returning adult students and to continue the legacy that was started in 2000 by faculty, staff and friends of MCC and Betty when the Betty P. Smith Scholarship for Returning Adult students was established. Since that time 12 returning adult students have received scholarship support and untold numbers of students have received guidance and support personally from Betty.
