MCC's Custom Style Manual

Are you Interested in a straightforward, interdisciplinary approach to help students with the basics of effective grammar, punctuation, mechanics, and citation?  The MCC style guide is a writing resource for students, and we have both a traditional text option and an Open Educational Resource.

The text copy called The Pocket Style Manual (ISBN: 978-1-319-08381-6). includes Bedford’s time-tested material and some of MCC’s own content with contributions from over 50 professors across campus. Currently, more than 30 sections of classes in English, WAC, and Transitional Studies require or recommend the book to their students.

The OER is available here: https://courses.candelalearning.com/styleguide1x30master/ . You can even link it to Blackboard from the library’s website.

Please feel free to share this resource with your students next semester. Your students may even already have a copy from a prior semester. See the handout for more information.
