MCC's Event for High School Students Gains Media Coverage
Nearly 35 high school students representing seven western New York BOCES participated in MCC's 21st annual High School Machining Competition last week at the Applied Technologies Center. Initiatives such as this introduce young people to viable careers, and strengthen the workforce pipeline and area businesses.
Spectrum News Rochester covered the event and interviewed Bob Lasch, program coordinator of MCC's precision machining programs, about the purpose of the event and the region's high demand for skilled manufacturing workers. The segment aired Friday and Saturday.
