EDIWS Welcomes New Assistant Vice President


At the October 6, 2014, Board of Trustees meeting, the appointment of Assistant Vice President, Matthew O’Connor was approved for the Economic Development and Innovative Workforce Services Division. 

Following a successful career at Eastman Kodak Company, Mr. O’Connor has held executive positions with JML Optical Industries, Precision Grinding & Manufacturing Corporation and ITT Exelis. During his 30+ year career, Matthew earned his Professional Engineering license and multiple American Society for Quality (ASQ) credentials, including the Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Engineer, and Certified Quality Auditor certifications, in addition to being a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.  He is also a member of the MCC Engineering Science and Physics adjunct faculty.

Matt’s community involvement includes serving in the following roles:  Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Pittsford; Steering Committee Chair for the Brighton-Eastside Habitat for Humanity Coalition of Churches; and as Councilman for the Town of Pittsford.

As Assistant Vice President, Matt will provide operational leadership and oversight support to EDIWS Vice President Todd Oldham, as well as assist in developing and maintaining partnerships with employers, unions and other agencies throughout the region to maximize opportunities for training, grant initiatives, and educational partnerships.  His office is located in Building 29, Room 172, and he can be reached at Ext. 3797.
