As announced earlier this semester, anti-violence, anti-sexism educator Jackson Katz will be giving two presentations at MCC’s Damon City Campus on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Katz is the co-founder of the Mentors In Violence Prevention (MVP) program, the leading gender violence prevention initiative in professional and college athletics. He is the director of the first worldwide domestic and sexual violence prevention program in the United States Marine Corps. He is also the creator and co-creator of educational videos for college and high school students, including <<https://mediaed.org/videos/MediaGenderAndDiversity/ToughGuise>> Tough Guise: Violence, Media, and the Crisis in Masculinity (2000).
The two presentations will be held:
4-5 pm Workshop for MCC students, faculty, staff and invited guests only, Room 4151
7 pm - Public Lecture for MCC and Rochester community with book signing to follow, 1st Floor of the Sibley Building
Parking is available in the St. Joseph’s Parking Garage attached to the Sibley Building.
