CAREER ACADEMY PROGRAMS: CAREER EDGE – FOR THE NEW WORLD OF WORK
By David Bunting

In late 1998, Kirkwood Community College (IA) was approached by a local
school district regarding the need to create new, dynamic learning
opportunities for high school students that would help them be better
informed and better prepared for their future.

PROGRAM CATALYST

As a result of the meeting, a coordinating council of stakeholders was established to continue discussing this new vision for high schools.
