The Sixth Act is pleased to announce its upcoming SIXTH ACT NIGHT AT VAPA event. We invite you and your students to attend VaPA’s production of Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer- and Tony-winning rock musical RENT on Friday, November 22, at 7:30 PM, at the MCC Theatre, followed by a special talkback with the student artists involved. RENT is a modern re-telling of Puccini’s opera LA BOHEME, focused on a group of young artists in NYC struggling with poverty, race- and sex-based discrimination, and the devastation of HIV/AIDS. The story is both challenging and accessible, both devastating and uplifting. The Sixth Act is thrilled to support this production, and excited to host a conversation about the production’s themes and process afterwards.

Finally, please note that The Sixth Act has placed the script of RENT and will place a hard copy of the special packet on reserve at the Leroy V. Good Library for all MCC students, faculty, and staff to use.
