The Democracy Commitment

On Monday, November 5, 2012 as part of MCC’s Democracy Commitment, we were honored to host NYS Court of Appeals Judge Theodore Jones.  Judge Jones spoke at both the Damon City and Brighton campuses on the topic of Jury Service as a crucial right of a democracy and the importance of achieving jury pools that were diverse and inclusive.  Judge Jones enjoyed the student interaction immensely.

His visit to MCC was among his final acts.  He died suddenly later that evening at his home in Rockland County.

How fortunate that we had a chance to learn from Judge Jones on his visit.
