Rochester Filmmaker Seeks MCC's Help to Make Homicidez

Director/Producer, Nicholle La Vann, a former student of our own Tom Proietti’s of VaPA and a Rochester resident, is asking the MCC community for some help.  Nicholle is best known for her film 25 Years 2 Freedom-The Betty Tyson Story, about the Rochester woman who served 25 years in prison for a murder she did not commit.

Nicholle is currently working on Homicidez, which focuses on the impact of violence in Rochester. The production is running into some funding difficulties.  Details on an upcoming fundraiser are as follows:

A fundraiser for the documentary film Homicidez is being held Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Driving Park Ave.  The time is from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Homicidez, a documentary film produced by independent filmmaker Nicholle LaVann, captures the human experience of murder upon Rochester families.  This film has the power of transformation that will be enhanced if the support for production and distribution comes from the people it portrays. This fundraising event will feature a performance by Selah Vibe and a screening of the film's trailer.

For more information on this event or how you can contribute to the film's fruition, please contact Nicholle La Vann at: <

On behalf of Nicholle La Vann and all independent filmmakers, musicians, writers and artists who struggle to get their work funded, thank you for any help you can provide!
