It may be easy for a caveman to report attendance but it is obviously not easy for me to count to three! One would never know that I am a math adjunct! Obviously, I need a review of my natural numbers.
In my previous Trib reminder, I referred to three situations you need to consider when reporting attendance. In my haste I forgot to include situation #3 which is a very important one. I apologize for any inconvenience this omission might have caused.
So here it is.....(3) After coding all students who never attended with a 0 in the attend hours column and after inputting a last date of attendance which is before the census date of your course(s) for those students you feel will never return, all the remaining students on your list should be attending. Enter a 1 in any one of those remaining student records. This 1 will verify two things: (1) those students who are presently attending AND (2) that your attendance information has been submitted. You DO NOT need to fill in a 1 for all the remaining students, just one. Please note that you must have a 1 somewhere in the attend hours column for each of your classes or your name will appear on the missing roster report. The missing roster report is sent to the chairs at their request after the final attendance collection date which in this case was YESTERDAY! Because I left you stranded without the explanation of #3 I will extend the deadline until NOON today, Feb. 27th. Please get your info in by this time. We need to run our attendance programs before financial aid can begin their dispursements to students. Remember, time means money!!!!! Thanks.
