ALSI Hosts Farm Energy Workshop

More than 35 local residents and MCC students participated in the Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute’s farm energy workshop on March 30 at the Town of Parma VFW. The workshop specialized in energy management for agricultural structures and equipment. Information included farm energy audits, NYSERDA grant programs, energy management, zoning and permitting considerations. Jason Brown (Workforce Developmen, pictured below) provided an overview of agriculture energy management and highlighted determining factors when contemplating renewable and green energy options.

Four Monroe County based businesses provided hands on equipment, demonstrations and consultations, including Berkeley Heating and Cooling, Gleason Geothermal, Alternative Wind Resources, and the Center for Environmental Information.
