"Woven from the Soul, Spun from the Heart" program on Iran on April 5

All are invited to attend “Woven from the Soul, Spun from the Heart,” a program about Persian textiles and the Bakhtiari pastoral nomads of Iran, on Thursday, April 5, at 6:30 PM in the MCC Theater. The program begins with a slide presentation by MCC Professor Shahin Monshipour about the Bakhtiari nomads of Iran and their hand-knotted carpets. Iranian delicacies and teas will be served during the intermission at 7:15 PM. At 7:30 PM, the Khorsheed Khanoom Dance Group of Montreal, led by choreographer and art director Aram Bayat, will present the Beebee Boft dance performance, with Bakhtiari and Persian solo and group dance.

The event, planned by the MCC Global Interest Group and sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, the Division of Interdisciplinary Programs, and the Division of Liberal Arts, is free and open to the public, with parking available in Lot F. Don't miss this program about an ancient culture that is still vital today.
