TCC Faculty Inquiry Group on Undergraduate Research, Scholarly Inquiry, Creative Activity: Fall 2013

The Teaching & Creativity Center (TCC) is excited to announce our Faculty Inquiry Groups (FIGs) for the 2013-2014 academic year.  A FIG is a group of faculty members from different disciplines that come together with the goal of exploring a specific pedagogical issue.  During the semester, members will meet 4-5 times to discuss current research, develop new strategies and techniques, and work together to improve teaching and learning.  FIGs are faculty-driven and provide a supportive environment for exchanging ideas.  In addition to three FIGs we launched last month (Online Teaching & Learning; The Flipped Classroom; Assessment), we are pleased to launch one more for this semester:

Undergraduate Research, Scholarly Inquiry, & Creative Activity (URSICA)
Coordinators: James R. Cronmiller (Biology) and Thomas Blake (English/Philosophy)
URSICA is a proven high-impact teaching practice. This FIG will discuss URSICA and its goals, how to incorporate URSICA activities into courses and the pursuit of faculty-mentored student projects (individual or collaborative interdepartmental) outside the classroom.

If you are interested in participating in this FIG please complete the survey below by following the link to SurveyMonkey. This will help us gather information about your interest, enable us to focus our FIG and determine an appropriate schedule for FIG meetings.
