Reminder: Professional Development Week starts Monday, June 6th!

Sessions for MCC’s 3rd annual Professional Development Week begin Monday, June 6th at 8:30 am! A full schedule of events can be found at https://web.monroecc.edu/FacultySenate/PDevents

Kicking off the week will be “Difficult Conversations,” a workshop on how violence has impacted the interactions we have with students.

Food will be served Tuesday during the “Inspiring Every Day” Profiles, STARS workshops, and during the afternoon college-wide Retention Discussion. Additionally, Dr. Holly Chatham, director of Strategic Research with the Educational Advisory Board, will discuss how administration and faculty can collaborate to increase college retention.

Wednesday afternoon a panel will highlight retention of first-generation students, while sessions on Thursday and Friday will be focused on teaching and learning. The Teaching and Creativity Center (TCC) will host Dr. Linda Nilson, director of the Office of Teaching Effectiveness and Innovation at Clemson University, on Friday at their Teaching and Learning Conference. For more background, please see the TCC website for details.

Professional Development Week is open to all faculty and staff. Please register for the “Inspiring Profiles” panel with Brenda Davies (<mailto:bdavies@monroecc.edu> ) and online for the TLC conference.
