The Democracy Commitment Western NY Regional Meeting


On Friday, March 21, 2014, from 2-4 pm in the Warshof Conference Center, Fliynn Campus Center (Monroe B), MCC will host the first regional meeting for The Democracy Commitment Western New York while engaging faculty in a professional development workshop on civic education. Our keynote speaker for the day is Dr. Caryn McTighe Musil, Senior Scholar and Director of Civic Learning and Democracy Initiatives at the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U). Additionally, faculty from a variety of disciplines including History, English, Transitional Studies, Sociology, and VAPA will share how they inspire student citizenship in a lightening-round of presentations. This meeting is free and open to MCC faculty and the faculty of area community colleges.
