Passing of Janet Glocker’s Mother


I regret to inform you that Dorothy Jamison, mother of Vice President Janet J. Glocker, Ph.D., Academic Services, passed away on Friday, July 31, at the age of 85.

Education was Mrs. Jamison’s passion. She taught high school math and continued to work with children as a teacher’s aide in West Virginia until February of this year. She was also active in the First Baptist Church of Glenville, W.Va.

Mrs. Jamison is survived by daughter Janet (David); sons Christopher (Elvira) and Clark Jr.; brothers James (Margaret) Prigel and Robert (Carol) Prigel; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Clark, and sister Thelma Connell.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at the First Baptist Church of Glenville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the MCC Foundation, Damon City Campus, 228 E. Main St., Rochester, NY 14604 or to the First Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, 217 E. Main St., Glenville, WV 26351.
