Celebrate Math Appreciation Month


Join the Mathematics Department as we host three activities in April in celebration of Math Appreciation Month.


1. Origami Day – Come ready to create.

Wednesday, April 2nd

9-132, 12:00 p.m. – 12:50 p.m.

Come create a swan, a tulip, a butterfly, a cube, a modular box with a lid or a modular icosahedron.  Instructions and paper provided.

2. Games Day – Come ready to play your favorite strategy game.

Wednesday, April 23rd

Math Learning Center: 11-204, 12:00 p.m. – 12:50 p.m.

Demonstrate your skills and challenge others at the Ultimate Puzzle, Chess, Mancala, Chinese Checkers, Backgammon, Clue, Ricochet Robots, Set and Blokus.

3. Amazing Math Race – Come ready for fun.

Wednesday, April 30th

Race begins in the Atrium in Building 3, 12:00 p.m. – 12:50 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded.  Reservation forms are available from math instructors or the Math Department Office, 8-510.
