Final Spring Workshop for the Friday Brown-Bag Innovative Teaching Practices Series

The third and final workshop in the series of Friday Brown-Bag Innovative Teaching Practices sponsored by the SHB Professional Development Committee will take place this Friday, April 11th, in Room 12-201.  The topic will be “Creating Significant Learning Experiences for Your Students” facilitated by Dr. Amy Irwin of the Chemistry and Geosciences Department.  The workshop will be a preliminary introduction to the concepts and ideas presented in the book by the same name written by L. Dee Fink, Creating Significant Learning Experiences for Your Students: An Integrated Approach to Designing College Courses.  This fall, we will begin a FIG group to discuss these theories, and in January of 2015, Dr. Fink will be visiting the campus to explain the concepts in greater detail.  This Friday’s workshop, which is informal and open to all, takes place from Noon to 12:50 p.m.  We encourage you to take time during the day to take a break, connect with your colleagues, and possibly come away with some new ideas!
