STEP Wins Honor

Students in the Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) won second place for their research project entitled “The Effects of Lead Poisoning in the Rochester Community” at the statewide STEP conference held in Albany, NY. Research projects were judged based on presentation skills, project poster, relativity to community issues and future implications.

For about 10 weeks during the STEP Saturday College, students conducted research through literature search, community involvement, and an experimental activity under the guidance of Mrs. Jennifer Chandler from the University of Rochester. Angela Brown is the advisor for STEP.

The following students presented the research project at the STEP conference: Chris Dowdell, Chasmar Wells, Xavier Balkum, Andrew Lagares, Pierre Philippe and Angel Vazquez. Kudos to them!
