Who will be chosen Rochester's Classical Idol?


Twelve vocalists from across the U.S. and Canada will vie for the title of Rochester's Classical Idol before a distinguished panel of judges and a live audience – all to benefit the Rochester Oratorio Society! ROS is our communitys largest volunteer chorus, comprising 155 members, including MCC faculty and staff!

The 3rd annual Rochester’s Classical Idol Vocal Competition

Saturday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Hochstein Performance Hall, 50 N. Plymouth Ave.

(Convenient parking available adjacent to Hochstein and in the Sister Cities Garage.)

More than 50 vocalists from as far away as Seattle auditioned for this year's competition. Competitors sing selections from opera, oratorio, art song or musical theater. The singer who wins the title of Rochester's Classical Idol receives a $1,500 cash prize and will perform as a soloist with the society in a future concert. Second- and third-place winners will also receive cash prizes and will be considered for future concerts. An "Audience Favorite" award will also be presented. The event will include silent and live auctions.
