Open Education Panels This Week!

The third annual Open Education Week takes place from March 10 to March 15! Open Education Week is a celebration of the global Open Education Movement and is meant to raise awareness about the movement and its impact on teaching and learning worldwide. Open Education is, at its core, about free and open sharing.

The MCC Libraries and TCC are hosting two panel discussions on Open Educational Resources (OERs):

Tuesday, March 11 at 3:30-5:00 in the Community Room at DCC, featuring Mike Koelemay, Engineering Specialist, Impact Technologies, and Mark McBride, Director of Library Services, MCC, and

Wednesday, March 12 at 12:00-1:00 on the 4th floor of the Brighton Campus library, featuring Kimberley Collins, Assistant Vice President, Academic Services;  Mike Koelemay, Engineering Specialist, Impact Technologies; and Mark McBride, Director of Library Services, MCC

The panelists will discuss the use of OERs in education, the benefits for students and faculty and the rapid growth of content being published in open platforms.
