MCC Alumni Week and Homecoming luncheon and golf tournament to honor Chris Belle-Isle, establish new scholarship

The Monroe Community College Foundation is pleased to announce that G. Christopher Belle-Isle ’67 will be honored during a special luncheon and golf event as part of Alumni Week and Homecoming 2011.

Monroe Community College is celebrating its 50th anniversary, making this the perfect year to honor one of MCC’s most tried and true alumni—Chris Belle-Isle. Chris’s connection with MCC began in 1964 when he enrolled in classes at the Alexander Street campus. He graduated in 1967.  He began his career at MCC in 1975 and is credited with establishing the first full-time Alumni Relations Office at a SUNY community college on MCC’s Brighton campus and has been recognized for developing one of the top transfer placement programs among New York community colleges, including the implementation of MCC’s “two-plus-two” program.  Chris was inducted into the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame in 2001. Today, as director of the Career and Transfer Center, he’s busy helping students “realize their education, career and employment goals.”

This luncheon and golf outing will provide an opportunity to celebrate Chris’s illustrious 36 year career.  We will honor Chris’s long-standing commitment to MCC and his dedication and service to its students while establishing a new student scholarship and introduce the first Belle-Isle scholar.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Eagle Vale Golf Club.  Plan to attend the luncheon and/or participate in the tournament. Let us know how you wish to be involved!
