Cel-a-brate good times...Come On! A Day of Peace


This is the last day of the Enough is Enough Campaign. Check out what’s happening today, April 9:

8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.: Brick Wall of Violence (North Atrium/PAC Lobby) - Take a moment to tell your story of how you or someone you know has been effected by violence.

8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.: Violence through ART (North Atrium and Campus Center Atrium) – Commercial Art II students created a poster series of illustrations to educate people about acts of violence.  MEET THE ARTISTS on 4/9 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am

8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.: Shoes of the Victims/13 Stories of Domestic Violence (Terrace)– Take time to reflect as you interact with this display of shoes with corresponding stories of women who have been murdered on college campus around the county.

8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m.: Offensive Clothing Display (Outside GYM Lobby) – See a display of real pieces of clothing that were sold in retail stores and on the internet.  Are you offended?  Tell us your opinion.

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – MCC Smiles (Gilman Lounge) – Take a SMILE and pass it on!  Get yours before they’re all gone!

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: CommUNITY Beats of PEACE Celebration (Campus Center Atrium) –

We are bringing people together around positive and upbeat music to foster a sense of peace and unity on campus.  Join us for cake and 50 Ways that MCC is a Safe Place, and take time to write out a thank-you card to someone at MCC.  We will deliver it for you!  Show some LOVE!

7:00 p.m.:  Great Dates and Plates (Canal Conference Room) – Panel Discussion about domestic violence while eating garbage plates.

8:00 p.m.:  GLTBQuiz (Tribune Hall Lobby) – Do you know the difference between Gay and Queer?  Not sure what an Ally is?  Test your diversity knowledge and ask the questions you always wanted to ask in a friendly and safe environment.
