Marine Corps Lance Corporal Timothy G. Serwinowski, a North Tonawanda resident, was killed in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on June 21st. New York Governor David A. Paterson has directed flags to be flown at half-staff on Friday, June 25th in his honor. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
