Chill Out: Campus Solutions to Global Warming

Chill Out: Campus Solutions to Global Warming is sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation and is a national competition between colleges to reverse global warming. NWF believes that, if left unmitigated, global warming will overwhelm its efforts to preserve wildlife. Thus, this competition was created to promote innovative and practical solutions for cutting campus emissions and promoting sustainability. The campuses that exceed in achieving these goals are displayed in an annual broadcast, which will be shown at MCC May 9th at 3:00 p.m. in the Warshof Conference Center, Monroe B.  The broadcast focuses on college initiatives such as the implementation of geothermal heating, solar panel installation and using real time energy systems to monitor electricity usage. There will be a presentation beforehand on what the MCC community has achieved in terms of sustainability and what our community is planning for the future. Small group discussion and brainstorming will follow the 75 minute broadcast.

Refreshments and pizza will be served.
