News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees took the following actions at yesterday’s board meeting:

1.      Approved the Consent Calendar, containing past meeting minutes, operating expenses, personnel appointments, compensation and promotions.

2.      Accepted the interim financial report as of November 30, 2010.

3.      Authorized the purchase of items over $10,000 as listed for the month of November 2010.

4.      Authorized an intermunicipal agreement with Monroe County under which the college will be allowed to participate with the following, if desired:

a.       Obtain maintenance services for any college vehicle at the County Fleet Maintenance Center;

b.      Borrow equipment from other participating municipal entities located in Monroe County;

c.       Loan equipment to other participating municipal entities located in Monroe County; and

d.      Purchase fuel from Monroe County operated fueling centers.

5.      Authorized the transfer of funds between accounts.

6.      Amended the 2009-10 operating budget to increase total state operating aid from the adjusted budgeted amount of $39,808,659 to the final adjusted amount of $40,211,006 as submitted to the state comptroller, with no increase in the sponsor’s contribution.

7.      Approved the retirement of Frank Rinehart, Dean of the Science, Health and Business Division effective March 1, 2011.

8.      Approved the appointment of Laurel Sanger as interim dean of the Science, Health and Business Division effective February 1, 2011.

9.      Approved the appointment of John Striebich as interim chair of the Business Administration/Economics Department effective January 24, 2011.

10.  Approved the appointment of Cheryl Mahoney as acting chair of the Nursing Department effective February 1, 2011.

11.  Approved the retirement of James Petrosino in accordance with Article 27 of the contractual agreement between Monroe Community College and the Faculty Association.

12.  Entered into an executive session pursuant to Public Officers Law Section 105, subsections c and h.

Additionally, the Board heard a brief presentation on the status of MCC’s Middle States Periodic Review.
