Seeking a few good mentors for Women on the Move program!

The Women on the Move program needs your help! We are looking for professional women to serve as mentors for our participants. As Women on the Move mentors, you will share your knowledge, skills and experiences with women who are looking to further advance their personal and professional development.  Presently, we have 15 participants enrolled in the class and they are ready to move forward in their careers and education... Now, all they need is you!

Some of the goals of past participants have been as follows:

To enhance my skills in job professionalism and communication
I have a clear understanding of what I want to do but need help to focus on “how” to do it
How to balance being a single parent, an employee and a student
To learn how to better handle dealing with difficult situations
To become knowledgeable on what my career journey will be and/or obstacles that may occur
To work on time management and organizational skills
I hope my mentor will help me be more professional and help me obtain a good work ethic and a positive outlook in finding a new career
I would like my mentor to be a positive “motivator”

As a mentor, we ask that you connect with your mentee at least once every two weeks in person or by phone or email. The length of your commitment is at least the duration of the semester; any time beyond that is up to the mentor and mentee.

If you are interested in becoming a Women on the Move mentor, please contact me by as soon as possible! You can reach me via email at <<mailto:tmcknight@monroecc.edu>> or by telephone at 262-1662.

Looking forward to hearing from you all!
