“Effective Communication for Difficult Conversations”

The following session will discuss techniques that can help when conversations become a challenge. These techniques can be applied with whomever is presenting that challenge, whether it’s a colleague, customer, student, etc.   Objectives include:

·         Applying communication techniques that effectively manage challenging situations;

·         Understanding the importance of building a shared pool of meaning when any conversation becomes difficult;

·         Practicing methods of assertive communication to help remain firm but empathetic, and collaborative not combative, in one’s message.
